Our beef is sold by hanging weight, which is the weight of the animal before cutting and wrapping. Processing costs are approximately $.45/pound (Paid separately to processor upon pick up). The packaged weight is generally 60% of hanging weight. Average hanging weights are:
Quarter: 135-150 lbs.
Half: 270-300 lbs.
Whole: 540-600 lbs.
